Campaign Story

Hi. My name is Michelle, and I am reaching out today with a humble request for support. I have dedicated my life to serving my country and my community, yet now, I find myself facing an entirely different kind of challenge—one that no amount of determination or service has prepared me for. I am seeking help to afford the fertility treatments I desperately need to realize my life-long dream of becoming a mother.

As a woman who has always been fiercely independent, I have worked hard to achieve my goals and contribute meaningfully to society. I have served in the Army and am still serving in the US Coast Guard, where I have been proud to defend and protect the values that make this country great. My time in service taught me resilience, strength, and the power of community—lessons I carry with me to this day.

I try to help make our community one in which I would want to raise my child through being a Paramedic, Volunteer Fire Fighter/EMS, Pediatric Emergency Care Coordinator, Wildland Firefighter, and a Licensed Veterinary Technician. I have always believed in lifting others up and making the world a better place.
Despite these efforts, there’s one dream that I have yet to fulfill: motherhood. After years of trying to start a family on my own, I have encountered the heartbreaking reality that my path to parenthood will not be a simple one.

I have been working with a fertility clinic for the past four years and am now at the stage of preparing for egg retrieval. The excitement of this event was diminished by some unexpected news. I was originally led to believe that the treatments I would need for IVF would be fully covered by the Veterans Administration, but recently found only a portion of the treatments needed will be covered. This was some of the worst news I could have received. But I know we serve an amazing God who still performs miracles.

I have always believed in the power of community and the importance of coming together in times of need. That is why I am reaching out today. I am asking for support from those who can help me make this dream a reality—so that I may finally become the mother I have always hoped to be. Every dollar donated will go directly toward fertility treatments and if there is anything left over, I will pay-it-forward to another woman on the same journey. My heart and soul is fully committed to the journey ahead, just as it has been in every other chapter of my life.
